The number 9 is actually being retired as a number in 2009. The powers that be have spoken, and it's on its way out, there's nothing you can do to save it.

Regarding sewing, though, if you sew up a hole in your sock when it's little, it just takes one stitch, but if you wait longer the hole gets bigger and you may need 9 or more.

Outrageous! We should start a campaign to "Save 9" immediately. How else will the Germans refuse anything?
