URGENT: Help needed from an English speaking local

DryAndEasy (12 posts) • 0

Hello,
tomorrow afternoon July, 11th (or maybe July, 12th in the morning if my flight is delayed from Hongkong) I need to go to the Human Resource Office in Kunming for my working visa.

I have to fill out one form (in Chinese), so I would be happy if someone could go with me to this office since I can't write Chinese. My friend who actually wanted to help me got sick today and had to go to the hospital!
I guess it takes about 1-2 hours including to go there.
I offer a nice dinner or let me know if you prefer a payment and how much. Please leave your phone number since I'm flying tomorrow from Hongkong to Kunming.

Thank you very much in advance!

Any good HR department will fill in the Chinese part of the form for you.
Any lazy HR person will fill it in for you as it is also the easiest thing for them to do.

You should ask them if they can help you first.

@tigertiger
Thanks for your answer. But have you ever dealt with them? I did and I think most probably they will just send me back and refuse my application - that's in fact the easiest for them, haha (depending on their mood of course). Since I can only spend a very short time in Kunming for this matter I don't want to take this risk.

I'm in kind of desperate situation since I only have tomorrow and the day after tomorrow I already fly on and my friend who supposed to help me got sick...

I don't get it are you talking about a z- visa ? as that's done abroard

are you talking about a resident work permit ?

are you talking about the foreign expert book ?

@dryandeasy
have you phoned them to ask?

As you have given us little info, then the information I make is based on assumptions.
I doubt that sending you away and going through the recruitment process again is their easiest option. Your employer may well have already completed step one of the application process.

If you already have your visa and are changing this to your residence permit (standard procedure) and if this is a teaching job, then a manager of the international department will also usually have to accompany you. This is to answer any questions that the PSB officer will have (PSB often do not speak English).

I strongly suggest you contact your employer first.

Since you're doing this yourself - I'm assuming you're and independent company as opposed to working for someone else. I suggest you have your accountant - who allegedly helped you setup your business structure here - help you out.

not sure why only half my post showed up, here's the full thing.

I don't get it are you talking about a z- visa ? as that's done/ issued abroard.

are you talking about the foreign expert book ?

are you talking about a resident work permit ?

If you are coming to work for someone, they should have done the necessary paperwork for you.

once here you will need to register with the local Hukou police (where you will be living), then you (they the employer) apply for your foreign expert book (takes about a week to get it). after you have that your employer can apply to renew your resident permit.

Now if your talking about something different ignore the above.

Thanks for all your responses:
Actually I just NEED a person in Kunming with English/Chinese knowledge (oral and writing) who is available tomorrow afternoon or next morning.

I know the whole process about working/residence permit:
- I'm applying for the 'work book' at the 'Yunnan Human Resource and Social Security Office' in Kunming and NOT at any HR dept. of a company.
- I already have a working permit
- I come back tomorrow from HK where i made and got my Z-Visa
- I am a owner of a 'Whole Foreign Invested Company' (but still need to hire myself and to have a working permit)

So please, I don't need (right now) any advices about the process, I just need an helping hand ;). Let me know if you could or if you know a person who would...

P.S. My company is based in Dali and unfortunately everybody who could help me (e.g. accountant, friends) are there...

have you already started/ filled the online application to the foreign affairs bureau/ dept ?

As your only giving yourself a day to do this (god only knows why) I suggest you get your accountant to fill the forms out and scan, then email them to you.

Here's a link to interpreters that you could hire to help you at the office.
