Nice. Looks like nobody has pooped in it yet.

give it time.
As long as they don't graffiti it. It's all good.
So how close are we to line 2 opening from the train station north? It looks as though they are trying to finish before spring festival... methinks they are going to fail. I base this on nothing more than their previous success rate of trying to open things before spring festival.
Anyone come back on a train recently and noticed any walls being smashed down or work leading to a possible subway entrance? I figure they will have a direct underground walkway from the train platforms to the subway station there...
Oh - I just read the wikipedia article that states line 2 will happen in 2 phases, the first from Huanchen Nan Lu North, the second from Huanchen Nan Lu South (including the Railway station).
I like this, keep breaking the subway construction into smaller and smaller phases and then claim victory when you have finished one phase of two or three from the original design... resulting in lots of disconnected subway lines that aren't that useful. Nice one.
Apart from being so slow, this subway project is massivly over budget. The best part is that when parts of the line are done the government stops competing bus lines. Finally dont mention the cost of subway tickets, especially if you know the price in Beijing.
How much do you think the price of a ticket will be on line No.2?
Better some subway than no subway. Apparantly many peopl have not been to the US.
I heard something a while ago about a ticket from the far north to the most south being about 16rmb which is much cheaper than a taxi but much more than taking the buses needed over that distance.
I am guessing that people who can afford taxis will be less likely to take the subway and people who can only afford the bus will stick with that.
Having a subway in our town is a luxery that I wouldn't have voted for. Why didn't they stick with the original plan of having fenced in bus lines? A less sexy but MUCH cheaper subway substitute.
Actually most cities throughout the world have decided subways are to expensive and take far to long to build so are going to light rail or two lane dedicated bus routes. Most USA cities have several light rail lines operating and during my travels this summer i saw many lines under construction with many more lines in the planning stages.
