Hi to all,

I am planning a trip in late March to Hainan, and want to fly from Kunming to Haikou, then be around the island for a week and take the boat back to Beihai and then from there to Kunming.

Anyone could recommend me any interesting spot or attractions ? I am not very fond of just sun-tanning on seashore and I have about 10 days to spend.

Yanoda Rain Forest outside Sanya is worth a day trip if you like island scenery and tropical plants. It is often combined with a stop at Bing Lang Gu, which has some interesting things to see related to minority cultures but mainly gets turned into a shopping opportunity when done as part of a group tour. I went to both places last month.

Lots of good seafood to be had in Sanya. I especially liked the open air eateries 大排挡 at night on Hexi Road 河西路 close to the river.

For the trip tips, I would suggest you to book the flight tickets around 30-40 days before departure, at that time, you will get the cheapest fare from the agent. Have fun in Sanya!
