Has anyone seen tamarind paste or sour cream around? Thanks

I have read that if you stir lemon juice into cream it will thicken and make a passable sour cream. I haven't tried it myself but because I saw it on the internet so it must be true!

Till now, no tamarind paste nor fish paste found yet. Tried sweet tamarind before, useless. :)

Barbara, lemon juice in cream will make something sour, but it is no sour cream.

First of all you need fresh cream, the one you can buy was heated and you cant use it anymore.
With fresh cream plus lactic acid bacteria you can make sour cream.
You can get sour cream at Metro, but unfortunatelly not all the time. Since last week they also have Cream Fraiche which is the same.

And I have seen tamarind paste in some shops on 吴井路.
