I'm planning to make my way from Chengdu to Kunming and its periphery before heading to Sipsongpanna/Xishuangbanna and then somewhere in the north of Thailand. The plan is to start moving by late June to meet the visa deadline in early July. If anyone is thinking about taking this route, let me know.

If you have any suggestions/advices, please say so. I'm still on the researching part of the travel.

Am thinking about starting in Laos and going up to Jinghong in Sipsongpanna, then going back to Laos and eventually Thailand using a Lao-registered rental car, but this won't be until the second half of July. Purpose of travel is business to collect some product samples, but of course, I will also visit some tourist sites as well. If your trip is flexible, please send me a PM to discuss. Although I will be travelling with a couple of people, would still be nice to have one more person to share the costs with.

That's a bit too late as I'm already in Thailand.. But have fun!! I made it to Yunnan and hit all those awesome touristy places in the north but next trip will be xishuangbanna..definitely! Thanks for the reply :)
