so my parents are going to visit me end june and since its best for our family peace that they are not staying with me Im looking for a nice hotel around the university/green lake area, walking distance to wenlinjie.
Since their standarts are, well higher, than mine (Hump or Cloudland will not work for them, even though I appreciated those places) Im left more or less clueless.
Can anyone recommend something nice in the 500-1000 Kuai pricerange (for two people)? In a quiet environment (I know how much this is to ask in a country like China).
The first Hotel that came to my mind was Green Lake Hotel, it seems to be a little expensive though. Does anyone know, whether bargaining is possible???
Hi, my wife and I are fast and furiously working on a boutique hostel very close to the green lake area and should be completed by the beginning of June. It will feature private rooms all with private baths, a pizza kitchen/cafe and a rooftop patio. Please keep your eyes open for ads for the Cottage Inn Kunming. It should fit your bill.
The "Seagull" at on Cuihu nan lu is not a bad option if they are happy to eat out. Rooms are clean, quiet and a reasonable size. Think it was about 250/ night
A little further south the New Era hotel is around 600 per night and very nice.
I think for the expensive hotels, like Green Lake, it is worthwhile to check out something like ctrip for online bookings. You can get the Green Lake Hotel for about Y800 (depending on season) which fits into your original budget. For some reason I have never stayed at the GLH, but the location is hard to beat.
