Hi everyone!
I heard from my foreign friends that it is difficult to get a police clearance certificate for foreigners in China. Is it true?
I am a foreigner living in Kunming for more than one year. Recently, I've been offered a job in Canada. One of the requirements is to provide a police clearance certificate from the countries where you have lived for more than 6 months. The Canadian embassy is asking for Certificate of No Conviction.
Does anyone know the process of applying for this kind of certificate.
I hope you can share your experiences.
Thank you very much.
yeah, i got a 'certificate of No Conviction"- 無犯罪紀錄証明書 in beijing last year. it went like this. i had to go find a local law firm that do international notaries first. the firm would then ask the police, on my behalf, for a search of records. i picked up a letter saying bah bah bah....... from the firm in english with a few chops a week later. it is that simple.
but you are in kunming :-) good luck!
you should ask someone who will assist you here in kunming..or talk the person who are incharged for that,if you have employer...you should talk the employer when you still working under his/her company...they provide the police clearance for you.
Go to your local police precinct ( Pai Chu Suo). I am sure they've done it for locals, so why not you? After that, take it to a notary place to get it translated into English and get notarized. Try it and let us know if it works.
I found out recently that the foreign expert visa office or public something office, that issues foreign expert certificate, can issue this kind of clearance - police clearance or other words for it. Not clear yet, but you may check with them.
