I know people have to work but Heijing is really wonderful any time except during the holidays. Hotels are very cheap because there are no tourists and one has the entire town to oneself when no one is there. Use the map/ticket they give you and go find all the sites - it is kind of like an easter egg hunt.

So, anyone knows the bus frequency between Chuxiong and Heijing or Lufeng and Heijing?
I'm trying to get there from Dali / Xiaguan.

Also, there is GoKunming article about the different salt towns which includes Heijing and another place called Shiyang.
Has anyone been there and knows how to get there?

Buses from Chuxiong to Heijing leave every hour.

To go to ShiYang - get a bus from Chuxiong also.

Go to Yao An and see Guang Lu Old Town then proceed to Da Yao so you can get to Shi Yang Salt Town.

Guang Lu Old Town and Shi Yang are 40 km apart.
