I'm just a normal western guy looking for a normal western hair cut. Anyone has any recommendations to where I could go? Somewhere where they speak english would be good...

There is this really good place close to IMAX by Nan Ping Jie. It's on the second floor so if you are infront of the main entrance of IMAX (with the hole in between you and the entrance) you just take right.
However they don't speak a word of English and I probably have longer hair than you have so I'm not sure how good they are with mens hair. Best way is probably to bring a picture and maybe a friend who speaks a bit of Chinese.
Good Luck :)
I speak Chinese and i have toi get my hair cut as well. i know the place too cause i've been living in Kunming for a while and the guys always tried to get me to go up when i was working around there
My number is 13211659847, call me if you need help.
I'll leave on the 31st though, leaving only for a week but call me fast if you need help. Or call me after the week i'll be gone. Or call me and ask me if i'm there.
Or don't call me ^^
Up to you :)
Any other leads on a barber that is good with fine hair? I'm sick of walking out of 10 kuai local joints looking like somebody's taken a chainsaw to my hair.
@Dan
Hit or miss - but ONE of the "stylists" on wenlin jie (right turn out of WenHua kou) can do layered cuts - although my hair is still looking a little wild - but better than the ¥30-60 "shifu" chainsaw cutters.
Now...how to say "layered cut"....
分层的发型 is the best I can come up with, though I always thought of the English term as referring to women's haircuts... anyway, I'll go down there and give it a try.
get a haircut and get a real job
get it together like you big brother bob.
I LOVE the hacked by a chainsaw 10 kuai jobbies. Nobody messes with me after one of those haircuts.
