it seems that you came to Kunming for Chinese girl? lol!
it is not so hard to live in Kunming, i know many foreigners on Kunming, and you could meet many of them in Salvador.
good luck to you.
BTW, Kunming is real a beautiful place to live.
Haha Gao Xing, actually your post is fucking great! I mean it's very well written and sounds like a script from a movie...really i'm not hyronic I hope you are writing at least a blog or something similar.
You pictured your chinese experience in such a compact and effective way that seldom I can appreciate on these forums..that was definitely interesting and worth reading!

China is evolving. Things are getting better. Under that piece of sh*t chen, taiwan decayed from an actually pretty good place into hole in the ground. Observe China's response to the Sichuan earthquake versus that piece of sh*t chen. Taichung is still a hole in the ground. During the Taiwan earthquake - foreign aid was pilfered and resold at obscene prices - they didn't even bother to remove the UN labels from the makeshift tents. My wife and her buddies jumped into their cars, loaded up blankets and water and DROVE to taichung to help look for bodies - preferably survivors, as the government dragged its feet.
The worst part apart chen's regime was his duping of the populace by using the taiwan independence referendum to bait their attention while he rifled 100s of millions into his private coffers. At least China executes its senior corrupt officials. The taiwanese bought into that crap. Lee tung hui - another piece of sh*t former president was proud of his bastard heritage (father was a japanese soldier during the occupation). When chinese don't recognize they are chinese and try to pretend to be something else - not only is it beyond shameful - they become a joke to the western world - like a circus dog dressed in clown clothes, parading around like moronic fools.
Although Taiwan is recognized as part of China by the UN, including the USA, the USA still sells weapons to Taiwan - the more important weapons are warehoused at US bases on Guam. Doesn't that wreak of incredible corruption and fraud by both sides? And nobody sees anything wrong with this?
oh no... it seems that laotou is drunk again. as for 'China executes its senior corrupt officials', wouldn't you include Taiwan as a part of China? in any case, POT ... KETTLE ... BLACK.
Laotou, you're a funny guy.
@gaoxing, of course HK is more foreigner friendly than Kunming; for starters, you can go days without seeing another foreigner in Kunming (depending on the part of the city you are in), which sometimes makes me wonder, where all the thousands of foreigners on this site are? Secondly, HK has had a long association with foreigners and despite being returned to China recently, is still very much unlike the mainland - also, you can get by quite well in HK with just English, something that's very difficult on the mainland.
Also, I have found it quite easy to make friends here - OK, so I haven't talked to that old, bald guy that frequents Salvador's yet, but maybe given some more regular visits I just might. It can't hurt to be friendly...
