I'm wondering if anyone has any experience studying Guqin (古琴)here in Kunming. I'm trying to sign up for lessons or find a private tutor. Any experiences or recommendations?
Thanks so much for any advice you might have to offer!

Well, I learnt Guqin for 3 month already. I totally recommend my teacher Wanli.
80RMB/a lesson/a hour if you are involved in a whole session of 12 times in total.
honestly speaking, its the best private tutor i've ever got. I used to study with 2 different teachers, but it seems to me she's the best.nd the tuition is reasonable.
if you are interested, drop me a message, i'd love to give you more details.
I learned guqin here:
water-moon qin house 水月琴轩 -
qq. 32509225
www.shuiyueqx.cn
address: qing yun jie 148
青云街148号 5150006
I can not remember the price now, but it seems like more or less the same as 80/rmb.
I like the atmosphere there, very nice for play qin.
i am currently studying gu zheng at a music school in xiao xi men. im sure you can probably do guqin there too. my classes are 50yuan per 45/50 mins private class if you pay for 15 weeks together. i like my teacher. as a beginner i decided to go for the cheapest lessons i could find and if i like it i might get a better/ more expensive teacher later. a lot of chinese people told me the more you pay the better the teacher.
you could also try to find a tutor by going to a shop where you can buy the gu qin and just asking. a lot of local people seem to do it that way.
Thanks for the replies! I really appreciate the help.
Justanna111, I'm very interested in getting more details about your tutor. How would I get in touch with her? And if Wanli is a private tutor, where do you have your lessons?
Emmi1, what's the name of your music school near xiao xi men? I'd like to go check it out.
And zlif23, thanks for the info on 水月琴轩. I went there is weekend. The atmosphere seemed nice, but I think it might be too far from where I'm living right now.
Thanks again all!
