Have been given different advice by different people. Will travellers who have been to this region kindly advise? If not, when is the best time to go? Gathered that summer can be wet. That would put a damper to outdoor activities.

My interests are in landscape and scenery. Enjoys taking photos of places I go to.

Early November can be a very pretty time in both areas. The majority of the larger tourist groups will be gone. It shouldn't be particularly wet though evening temperatures could drop so be prepared with some warm clothing.

For Shangri-La, at least, dress warm and bring an umbrella, just in case.
