Does anyone have any advice on finding someone to help out with the kiddies, house, and Mandarin tutoring (for the kids) in Kunming? Should I rely on word-of-mouth when we arrive, or is this site the best way to find someone like this?

Another good place is the Kunming Swap listserver, which you can join online.

You are best off separating the two duties (ayi and tutor). The children will pick up the language much more quickly in a group situation from other children, having the children attend pre-school for example.
