The Yunnan Militairy Academy (The yellow building next to Green Lake), The Kunming Museum and the Yunnan Provincial Museum are all free of charge.
For the last one you have however to bring your passport

The navigation apps and such are great. At the same time, I share @hermit's interest in finding a single integrated bus map like one generally finds for other cities, such as this one for Manhattan: nycmap360.com/carte/image/en/manhattan-bus-map.jpg

I have yet to see anything resembling this for Kunming.

Apple maps works great for me. Before I had an IPhone it was a real struggle figuring our bus routes.

I too prefer Apple Maps, but I no longer have an Apple device. Edit, I have just done a quick search and seen pages for how to download Applemaps to Android. I will give it a go.

Well I followed that search result for one page and it appears it was just clickbait. Sorry if anyone else got their hopes up too.
The other one was to quora website which is blocked.
