What types if medical centers are available in Kunming? is there a hospital with English speaking Docs? How about kids doctor for your standard illnesses?

For children there is the Sanford International Clinic at the Calmette hospital. It's in the north on Beijing Rd. Metro line 2, Linyuqiao station exit B.
Finding an English speaking doctor for yourself would be a challenge even at the "international" hospitals.
