DT is a great place for the more experimental, grungy and edgier stuff. Great bar indeed!! Locals and blowins alike.

there are a lot of live music venues which sometimes get heavy rock/metal bands. As for a bar that plays recorded music, I'm not sure as I haven't been out to bars regularly for years.

Loads of empty bars that would be happy for you to use their internet and sound system if you are buying drinks. Mid-week, take your pick...
