Failing to sort out your trash could make it harder for you to get a bank loan in China.
The new regulation passed last week in the eastern province of Zhejiang is the latest move by Chinese authorities to incorporate daily misdemeanors into the
country’s burgeoning social credit system. “Violators will not only be punished, but also have the infraction recorded in their credit histories” and affect their ability to
borrow from banks.
Beijing said in 2014 that it wants to give every citizen a social credit score by 2020, in a bid to tighten social control over its citizens.
Transportation is one area where the social credit system is expanding rapidly. Selling fake train tickets or smoking on trains could lower one’s credit score, which is kept on record by railway authorities for five years.
my score is nonexistant as i dont have china id card
you score less than zero,, Earthling.
why would i want a china id card?
"Beijing said in 2014 that it wants to give every citizen a social credit score by 2020, in a bid to tighten social control over its citizens."......Last time I checked, we aren't Citizens of China so it would appear this has nothing to do with expats so why should we get one?
And do you have yours? Since you are telling us to "get one" maybe you can enlighten us on how to "get one", I'm sure that is more informative than a flippant remark.
or the person concerned is a ch national, and not thinking wider. only way i can think of getting one is swapping passports, if i was elelgible, and even then, why would i want to do that?
I understand this policy provided the inspiration for a pretty lame TV series by Seth MacFarlane (yes, I know), 'The Orville', S01E07
Worth checking out if you don't mind parting with an half hour of your time .....
maybe not. the idea has been around for years. tv series black mirror s3 e1 'nosedive' did it in oct 2016, and in much more detail than orville
@Dazzer, yes, I remember that one, too- you're right, it's much better. Black Mirror is pretty darn awesome :)
