Where is a good place to buy discounted airline tickets in Kunming? Should I go to the Hump or Camillia Hotel travel agencies, or are there better places?
Does anybody know of travel agents in the far north part of Kunming, such as near the Walmart on Beijing Lu? That would be most convenient for me.
I tried the websites recommended by others on this forum, but I couldn't get any of them to work for Kunming to Vientiane, Hong Kong, or Hanoi flights. Anybody know how to buy international air tickets online?
Thanks for your advice.
We've been using Sanya (351-6888) for all of our domestic and international travel for the last 3 years. They accept foreign
credit cards(with a 3% fee). Their fares always beat anything online including CTRIP, Expedia and all the rest. They are about 2 blocks up from the train station
If you have an international credit card there is no reason you need to book international flights through a Chinese ticket agent.
I've often used the following:
www.edreams.com
www.zuji.com.hk
www.lastminute.com
can't remember the others but if you google "flight ticket consolidators" or "cheap flights" you'll get loads of websites. The whole system is internationalized so there is no need to buy inside China using RMB unless that is your preference.
Plus for flights to Hong Kong you can try www.hkairlines.com - you can book online and they are usually much cheaper than Dragon Air or China Eastern.
ticket.com.hk/index.php?lang=eng
from hk though. not mainland. good prices to mainland, just click the "any date" tab to see what's available.
hey people, these two webpage might be able to get cheaper fares and choices
www.qunar.com
www.taobao.com
I wouldn't buy air tickets on taobao under any circumstances. It is the chinese equivalent of ebay. Taobao shops are not able to issue flight tickets.
Qunar can be good but you need to be able to read chinese. it is not bilingual.
Qunar is recommended.
While Taobao is not.
Qunar offers the cheapest tickets as far as I'm concerned.
