Hi all, I'm planning to move to Kunming in mid May and will stay throughout the summer. Are the rains bearable? How often does it rain? Thanks!

There is no such thing as bad weather, just wrong clothes. At least my mother always used to say that and but I still don't belive her. The good thing is that you can grab an umbrella from any random girl in the street,, they only use them in sunshine.

Kunming's summer rain is really bad. And when it rains here, it a little bit like winter, could have a kind of cold.

i find it safe to assume that it will rain every day, and then when it doesn't, bonus! the rain is fairly warm (i disagree with PrettyIdol) and there's no need to start swaddling yourself in waterproofs - an umbrella and a sensible choice of footwear does the job. the negative aspect for me is when the rain sets in for days - it can be overcast and a little depressing.
