Puerto Rico is American citizens. You took that weight on your shoulders when the US went empire building in the Carribean.
Still, its difficult to play the victim card when you think even disasters on the American mainland are handled poorly, New Orleans, BP oil leak etc. The evidence points that there's a system that doesn't work there trying to help people in need the most. Its not a recent thing either, as evidence suggests. Obviously, that's beside the point when this can all be swung for political gain - and so the trend will continue.
The "evidence" of a "system that doesn't work" is prime example of the crap tossed at the USA generally and Trump in particular. Is it deliberate slander, selective memory, or just plain "fake news?"
One month ago Texas was hit by a massive Hurricane Harvey, "1,000 Year" floods and 100,000 homes destroyed. Two weeks later Hurricane Irma, one most powerful storms on record, hit Florida with catastrophic damage. Somehow, the corrupt, failing American system that doesn't work handled this one-two punch with Trump in charge.
Criticism of Trump handling of response to Harvey began two days BEFORE Harvey made landfall. One of the major criticisms of Trump's storm response was Melania Trump's choice of footwear.
Hurricane Irma rolled up the left coast of Florida with extensive wind and water damage and few complaints as the "system that doesn't work," did. A few complained that the storms are Trump's fault because he withdrew from the Paris Climate accord.
Two weeks on Hurricane Maria struck a Irma wracked Puerto Rico knocking out 100% of the electricity distribution and most of the communication systems. The most vocal critic of Trump is the mayor of San Juan, a Hillary supporting, left learning progressive who didn't bother to attend disaster planning meetings and who spends a lot of time giving TV interviews and wading in chest deep water getting TV face time as she preps to run for governor of Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico gets hit with major storm damage every few years and billions of dollars sent to the island over the years to upgrade infrastructure has been pissed away. The truck drivers union is on strike and refuses to distribute much needed food, water and fuel.
You can blame Trump and the American system but it is complicated.
"The most vocal critic of Trump is the mayor of San Juan, a Hillary supporting, left learning progressive who didn't bother to attend disaster planning meetings and who spends a lot of time giving TV interviews and wading in chest deep water getting TV face time as she preps to run for governor of Puerto Rico."
There's a bit of your broken system out in the open.
Alien, lets see if the answers to your yesterdays questions, will be self evident today, just by reading news.
In a while we may know.
Anyway, apologizes to Gokunming team for politicizing too much here. Will take a break. i can see its affecting the forum. Lets hope all turns out well. Interesting times ahead, very much so. Bye for now for a while.
@Alien: " what should be prioritized?"
@Peter99: "Alien, lets see if the answers to your yesterdays questions, will be self evident today, just by reading news. In a while we may know."
OK we have read the news; the answer is gun control.
I won't disagree with gun control, but I really don't think it's a bad idea to attempt to identify, with information and analysis rather than merely with the heat of justifiable anger, the social causes of violence. of course it is not merely a matter of the person of Donald Trump, or any other single persons, including the deranged individuals who shot up Vegas today, Orlando 2 years ago, and others - or, for that matter, the violence of organized groups. If it were, the solution would be pretty simple. Gun control, particularly in the US, okay, but that can never be enough and it can't stop there. There is no simple, immediate one-off solution, I'm very sorry to say.
For Peter99 here two articles about politicized fake news. He should read this before posting again.

www.theguardian.com/[...]
But he will probably dismiss the Guardian as an other leftwing antifa publication.
To a normal person The Guardian is a waste of paper written by people who don't live in the real world, each competing with each other for the most weird, outlandish headline - Who to my knowlage have printed lies over Rhodesia, Northern Ireland and now Zimbabwe and makes a story according to its agenda.
If you're a wimpy British blue haired, nose ringed, disabled, lesbian transvestite with a preverlance for small children and performance art then its your bible.
