I am needing to purchase sour cream. Does anyone know where I can purchase this? I've looked at Metro and Carrefour this week, but I have had no luck. Suggestions? (And I kindly ask that you don't tell me how to make it myself... I already know how to do that.) Thanks for any input you can give about a quick purchase.

It's sold out every now and then. Price is ok, like 20rmb, but taste is bland and weak. Definitely didn't do a thing for my baked potato, just made it taste like I plastered bakery cream all over it. Salvadors makes good sour cream, maybe they will sell you some if you order in advance, though it will probably cost closer to 50rmb than 20rmb. The Metro one was so disappointing, I did learn to make my own. I think Metro does change suppliers every now and then, so if the sour cream they carry isn't made in Shanghai and starts with an "A", update this thread plz.

You're bettery off just buying 1L of Anchor brand cream, adding some lemon juice/vinegar +salt and using a hand mixer.

Add about 15min in fridge to get consistency thicker.

Yeah, so I went back to Metro, and they did, indeed, have sour cream. It is off-white in color and bland in flavor, like AlexKMG says. I like your idea of buying from Salvador's. I will try that next time. Thanks everybody for your input!
