I was wondering if there is a demand for genuine South African biltong from the users of GoKunming forum?
I have started making my own biltong for personal consumption, yet I was wondering if anyone else would like biltong for themselves.

+ for making me google biltong.
Homemade jerky is always good, but if I am hankering for beef in Kunming, my mind and stomach and wallet would choose steak or burger. But might be good on long train or bus rides or a multi day cycling trip.
Is South African jerky 5x tastier than say packaged Jack Links?
I've never had Jack Links, so I cannot comment on that, also being a South African, all I can say is that biltong is awesome, but I'm probably biased. I have had people who have eaten biltong and American jerky say that they prefer biltong. I've heard jerky tends to be processed, whereas biltong is just a piece of prime beef that is treated and dried.
Comparing some pre-packed Jerky to some Biltong is like comparing McDonalds to a Michelin restaurant.
Biltong is different to jerky as it's never smoked and you'll get much better, thicker meat.
Back home Choppies sell an Ostrich meat version, very nice.
i made my account to respond to this....
I am american and i agree that billtong is better than jerky... it is different, more traditional... other's i know that have tried both agree as well. That's not to say that i don't enjoy some nice teriyaki jerky as well mind you.
Well I've never had jerky, from what I read online is that it usually tends to be sweet, is that correct? While biltong is salty, and uses a diffferent preserving method to that of jerky.
Mandrake try some bars. If its salty, it might be good with beer.
Jerky is sweet:-(
I would take all the biltong you could
Give! I crave that 24/7. Keep me

Thank you @mandrake for the supply of Biltong. Tastes as I remember back in SA. Awesome flavour and good meat quality. Order process was very easy, and he can deliver local. I choose to pick up personally and he was very accommodating. Get your order in now!
