There is no such thing as Coincidence - last 3 posts.
Not to put Grace down, but I have truly never eaten real lasagna with industrial pasta sauce, olives, butter, spinach or cheddar. And oven ready lasagna pasta doesn't work well, because it doesn't bind together with the (home made) sauce as it should. That's the fundamental premise of any high quality pasta type.
@Campo
Its activated at certain times of year. Anyway, better this way, than those agressive guys that were around earlier.
All seem to have a common interest though: food! Heh
@ricsnap
Just because you've never eaten it that way doesn't mean it doesn't taste good.
And we are talking about recipes for children... I daresay they would not do well taking lasagna noodles out of boiling water without breaking them.
I've eaten the oven ready noodles before, and they work just fine.
Of course things cooked from all fresh ingredients ate going to taste better, but I have to agree with Gracie. This is kids cooking not fine dining.
For many busy people, canned pasta sauce and non-soak lasagna are a boon, and perfectly acceptable.
P.S. I would also consider using ground pork, instead of ground beef. This is not authentic but localizing the dish can make a big difference.
@tigertiger
That's the great thing about lasagna... you can put in anything you prefer (pork over beef, veggies over meat, etc.), and it will still taste good.
