Hello,
I know this topic has been discussed often before, but the posts are a bit old now.
I need to extend my visa in 2 weeks, I have been in China for 4 months now and had already extended my stay one time before one month in shiyan (original visa was 3 months), my question is if I can extend another time here in Kunming (still less than 6 months) or do I have now to exit the country and reenter, I want to stay another 2-3 months to learn Chinese.
what would you recommend for getting a new visa? Is Hong Kong still the best choice?
I am a German citizen.
Thanks
Really guys, no one has any useful tip/information!
Nope. Who do you think we are, a visa service? Ha Ha.
@kunking,
Under last week's rules you would not get an extension. The rules change constantly, so you need to go to the VISA office and ask them about this week's rules.
Why not just get a student visa from Keats or some other school since your going to study Chinese. I think one in country extension was max, but that info is at least a year old. Anyways, I never heard of anyone getting more than one thirty day extension.
If you have to go out, Cambodia is your best choice. Agents there can get you China visas with less paperwork.
I agree with AlexKMG. If you are here to really study Chinese, then why not join a school and let them deal with the paperwork to get you a student visa? If it's a question of cost then either way it will be expense.
Cheapest is to go to HK by relatively non-polluting train.
Thanks for the information, Cambodia is maybe a good hint, I am tired of Hong Kong anyway. I am staying only for two months that's why I thought the school may not be the choice for extending the visa
For people who are making a visa run there are 2 things to consider.
Most people have limited time and limited money to make their visa run so they are looking for the closest and cheapest place to get a new visa.
For those with time and money there are plenty more options.
How much to travel by train and how long is the trip?
