Visa question S -Visa

fixitwithahammer (165 posts) • 0

Does anybody have the PSB number handy?
I could skim through 9 years of visa posts, but it would be much quicker, if somebody would be so nice and give me the PSB phone number, my wife wants to give them a call.

She tried a few numbers but all were for Chinese citizens. She is calling for an hour,already.

But she is always directed to something other than, China visa department.

They will fine you 4000 dollars for working on a marriage visa? Maybe a fine, why dollars? Why when you can only change $500 dollars a day from RMB would they fine you over a course of 4 days? Why would the fine not be RMB?

How would they ever be able to stop you travelling to other countries for the rest of your life?
Bobby and Bashir are on the UN travel ban list, but even they can still travel. Why would you be put on a list made for terrorists and genosidal maniacs?

Why couldn't you just get a new passport and away you go? China or otherwise.

I have no doubt you can't work on a marriage visa, no doubt that there is some sort of punishment for it but that was sensationalist bullshit surely?

@NAP
Sure, you'll pay the fine in RMB but it's calculated by the U.S.$ rate of the day. I was able to dodge a fine but they also told me ..?..- dollars if I'd overstay one more day. Payable in RMB.

Some countries do mind if you have visa violations. UK, USA, Shengen states also frown upon Visa violations. You may visit and travel there, but you may get rejected a few times, furthermore long stay visa and work permits are slipping further away.

But still not being able to stay in China, with your relatives residing Middle Kingdomish would be hard to explain to your inlaws. They want their hongbao's for Chinese New Year...lol

@ fixitwithahanner. Why do you think you need to go to Hong Kong to apply for a visa? Aren't you in Kunming now? What visa did you enter China on?

@hotwater
My visa expires by the end of the month.

I just heard, that I cannot get the visa in Kunming, because my wife's residence card is too fresh and she's not from Kunming.

The card must be at least 6 month old. So very weird.

It looks like I need to go to Hongkong or to her hometown,

Then why not go to her hometown and convert your S visa into a 1 or 2 year resident visa? If you go to Hong Kong then you've got a minimum 1-night stay to pay for and a new S visa. Then you've still got to convert it into a resident permit anyway!

might be worth going down to tuodonglu and asking or just trying to make application. remember the kunming want you to come in 2-3 weeks before renewal. was posted on here that sb was rejected for coming in with only 5 days left, last yer. you might still need that new wife invite form filled in for hk too.
