Please can anyone help me to be able to connect to the internet so I can access my internet banking in Australia and other websites I need to access to run my business.

ok I cannot access my banks or my businesses as google is blocked and every search engine I have tried is blocked..........

It sounds like you are connected to China Telecom. In our office we have China Telecom, as it is the only provider available, in our xiaoqu.

They are the worst, I can't access normal websites, such as banking, travel booking, hotel booking, etc.

Even using VeePeeN's and it's still hard to connect with China Telecom.

I recommend using a China Unicom connection, or other providers, if you want to do your online banking. We don't have any problems with their connection.

Or,try getting a good VeePeeN

But I would like to get a prepaid package for china unicom is there an office in Kunming? or can you advise me how I can get to them online?

I guess you could download a torrentclient, use a torrent search engine to find the software you need, and download. But I am just brainstorming here. And it may, or may not be illegal, in China, I am just mentioning possibilities.

About Unicom, you could call them up, they have English services, but only for mobile. But you could try to get a nice bloke to ask their landline service to come to your place. You pay [depending on your internet speed, between 800 and 1600RMB per year] for a highspeed internet connection.

They install and open your landline in less than 24hours.
