Greece is probably the closest..
Thanks:-), sorry I forgot to write details. I mean anybody can recomend airlines and closest city to KM ( coz from KM is eveything expensive ) . I need to fly to Prague but cant find anything cheaper the 12k rmb. So any place in EU would do ( closer is better of course ),if is cheaper then 1000$ .
The only direct Kunming-European flight is to Paris. It's China Eastern or Southers but I doubt they get you below 1000US$ which is 6500RMB, by todays exchange rate.
I doubt that you can find a flight that cheap, especially in Summer, but you can try.
I recommend to pick your date before June 1st, when the airlines change to their Summer rates. Find and book flights a little more that 2 month before departure. Go with airlines that have layovers.
Airlines that offer cheaper flights are Emirates [Guangzhou], Etihad [Chengdu], a sometimes cheaper option is, low-fare carrier to Hongkong, then direct or lay-over flight to Europe. since Hongkong is much cheaper than mainland flights.
The only reasonable direct flight option is Chengdu Amsterdam with KLM.
The final option, to my knowledge, is C-trip, sometimes they have crazy-ticket-out-of-hell-guerilla options, with the crashiest airlines possible and several lay-overs 30hours flights for 4k to 10k RMB.
So that is something to look into, if money is an issue.
Otherwise as I said, to get a flight around 6500RMB is very unlikely, unless you have miles or promotion codes.
I hope that helps.
Tuna is about right I think.
We flew KMG<->CDG (which I like to call "seedy G's"; gateway to "l'Metro Ghetto") last summer. 2 adults, 1 child. I think we paid 18,000 return all up. Kids are about 30% of the adult fare. So I think 18000/2.3 = 7826RMB/adult. We didn't book ahead at all. However, we were quoted a LOT more by most agencies, in the end shopping around saved us loads of money .. over 5,000RMB anyway.
Another possible option is the cheap long haul to Europe (almost every city) out of Bangkok, possibly via the Middle East. If you have time you can get the boat down from Guanlei in Xishuangbanna, stop off in Chiang Mai and maybe Ayutthaya awhile and make a proper trip of it.
Once in Europe it's generally pretty cheap to get long distance trains or even cheaper, buses. Prague is easy to access from Germany, we caught the train there from Berlin last year and it was a beautiful ride down the river past Dresden. Poland is probably another good bet, there must be direct flights to Poland from Bangkok as there are loads of Poles living there!
Another option is a cheap flight to Beijing, a Russian visa and the Trans-Siberian.
Finnair flies from Chongqing to Helsinki. I paid less than 5300 RMB for round-trip flights in January this year. Summer may be more expensive.
If you are getting quotes for 5,000-6,000 return (especially for summer) to Europe then you'd be silly not to book one.
That's the price of the trip, it's a long trip and China has a heavy departure and arrival tax that bumps it up a little when compared to HK.
Whatever you save on this end you'll just loose to pickpockets once you arrive in Prague anyway.
Overcrowded rubber dinghi seems to be a popular mode of transport to Europe nowadays. That should save you a few sheckles. Have you considered that?
traffickers probably charging a lot more that $1000 a seat mate.
My return flight to the UK was 5500RMB last year from Chengdu via Hong Kong
