@peter99 i think tonyaod explained pretty well,it is hard to understand what is really allowed or not in this country, you say government is cracking down on modeling show but there is plenty of that happening every day smoothly. if u have been living enough here you know that all is about guanxi, maybe they thought they had some good ones. i wouldnt be so judgemental without knowing what happened exactly.
If there was a crackdown on illegal employment, would they really go after some silly carmodels, doing a few hours show? Heh. No they wouldnt. Theres been an initiative from higher power to crack down _specifically_ on this sexy car modeling, ...so, well, the local moral police was probably about to shit in their pants when they saw some big tit blonds licking cars on this show. I mean, this stuff - blondes with boobs - gets into media in China too, all the way North. You dont want it there right now.
Sure, this is a hypothesis, but the best one around.
Peter, you are assuming too many unknowns in your verdict. How do you know they are dressed in "sexy" Clothes? How do you know this has to do with the clamp down on indecency?
All We know was that they were fined for working at a car show while here on student visas. They might not Even be models, maybe that was a label given by the article for lack of a better term. Bottomline, We don't know the exact nature of these "model's" work and so shouldn't be so vindictive.
I actually recently retired, so to speak, from teaching in China. I just got burned out after 11 years of it. I got a two year spousal visa and I just do not work.
Has anyone in China ever been deported (or fined) for "teaching" English on a spouse visa?
Tony, you must be joking. Are you seriously trying to say that car models are not dressing sexy?
Ha-ha-ha. Thats the joke of the month, man.
Heres from your text, by the way:
"Didn't help that the promoters were very visibly promoting there will be foreign models (to gawk at) at the car show."
Come on guys, get yourself together.
Peter, are you a three year old? Is that the level of maturity I'm dealing with.
Did you go to the car show and observed these models, did the article mention the type of clothing they were wearing? You are making assumption, whether correct or not, that paints you as a gloating idiot.
To be gawked at, does not necessarily imply wearing skimpy or barely there clothing, it just means being stared at, some thing that happens to all foreigners when they step out into public here in Kunming regardless of what they are wearing btw, the parenthesis denotes my own words and not the official reporting, but then I'm forgetting, you're just an jealous Chinese national that spent a few years abroad but couldn't quite make it so you had to come back to your home country all the while being resentful of foreigners for living the perceived good life.
sounds like one of two. rival employment agency or rival car dealership displaying contacted psb
That would be kinda funny though. That also the Chinese who "couldnt quite make it", were resentful, on this website.
I assume you made it, man. Wow. What did you do?

BTW. Theres no bitter feeling on this side Tony, rather just looking with humour on your seriousness and unneccessary over logical debating on some damn crumbs here or there. A single search in google image search on "car models" will bring so many bare assed chicks that you dont find anything close to it on Patpong even.
I was hoping the links had some decent pics :(
