Thanks for the link about exchange rates, but I have a very simple, yes or no question, that is nothing to do with exchange rates.

Yes, or anyway, almost any bank..
Thank you, Alien.
I still do not know what - several means so I can not answer your questions just yet.
Alien just gave you his usual vague reply - Almost any bank - that means not all banks can do this. So you will probably waste yout time by going to the one that does not provide this service.
There's a currency exchange in Nanya next to Donna's Doughnuts. You need to take your passport. I don't know about banks.
AUCE - Asia Union Currency Exchange - www.gokunming.com/[...]
The reason forums exist is for human interaction.
My idea of human interaction is talking face to face with a real person - not typing on a computer where no one knows the true identity of anyone else and giving vague replies (trust + reciprocity) that hinder the progress of self-disclosure.
The AUCE has closed down recently, there's nothing there anymore
Bank of China, take your passport and House Register at the local police.
This is just a silly question that can be easily answered by going to the nearest bank and actually try to exchange for RMB instead of asking the forums. What's the worst that can happen, they say no? Is the OP really so lazy that he can't be bothered to try? Or is he so afraid of real human contact that he needs to come on the forums for "human interaction" instead. Or maybe (call me cynical) he is a narcissistic troll.
I am curious @rogermanytimes, how did you manage to make your initial RMB exchange last several months? Most people I know (to use a vague concept that @xiefei does not like) needs to do an exchange within the first month they are in China, if not within the first couple of weeks. Something doesn't add up.
Second, try RTFF (reading the f**k'n forum). No one wants to interact with an A-hole that does not observe the most basic of forum netiquette.
Third, are you seriously going to bombard the forum with every slightest inquiry or observations of KM? Do I need to prepare myself for the up coming threads titled "Haggling with locals", "How to hail a taxi", "Can foreigners visit KTVs", "The different varieties of mixian", and "The Dangers of crossing the street"?
Tony you forgot "How to date a Chinese girl?" Why do you hate China?" "Why do you hate China?" and the comments on obsession, anger and idiot foreigners living in China.
This guy can type 小锅米线 but doesn't know how to change USD currency into yuan? Me thinks he thinks his fellow expats are all grubers.
