September 2015
The year 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of 'The Chinese people's Resistance against Japan and the Global Victory over Fascism,' or the close of the Second World War.
Due to the importance of this date to China, there is an additional public holiday in September which you need to be prepared for, and it occurs between the 3rd to 5th, with Sunday the 6th being a normal working day.
Is this going to be a yearly thing?
As we all know, the CCP single-handedly defeated Japan.
Ha.Ha. Yes they did. Long live China!
2015 - Thu, Fri, Sat - 3, 4, 5 - Lets see if this is true or just another rumor like the 40 schools being closed down. Lucky for all of us we do not have to wait too long as tomorrow is the start of the Holiday.
It is a one time thing to celebrate the 70th Anniversary - 中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利70周年纪念日 - baike.haosou.com/doc/8010452-8327432.html
I will download movies about the Japanese invasion of China to celebrate this holiday. Some movies I already have include:
Flying Tigers - 1942
Children of the Silk Road (Huang Shi) - 2008
The Last Emperor - 1987
Ha.Ha.
It's true. 3days of propaganda.
@Tonyaod I had that (heated) debate with the wife yesterday lol

There will also be many events to celebrate the 70 years since the end of WW2, and to remember the fallen. 70 years is an important anniversary, it is the last 10 year milestone that many, if not all, of the veterans will be alive.
I also recognise that the events in UK were not used as tub thumping for ...
