Looking for children's music/ art/ sport lessons

Shetland (1 post) • 0

We are living in Kunming near the Green Lake and are home- educating our son (aged 8) and daughter (aged 12).

We would love to find other kids for them to socialise with, as well as enrolling them in some arts and sports classes.

Can you help?

Hi Shetland

I am a British woman also living near Green Lake (Cui Ming Yuan Xiao Qu). I don't know if you're interested in private classes for your children but if you are I might be able to help. I have experience teaching art to children privately in the UK. I can tailor classes to any level from absolute beginners to GCSE level (U.K. school exams taken at 16). My lessons are always fun but I can also teach formal technical skills such as drawing from life and sculpting in clay.

Depending on your children's current level in music I could also teach them the violin or singing (I am grade 8 level in both).

If you would like to discuss this further please do get in touch: maudecroucher[at]gmail.com

Hi,

We are a Dutch family living in the Cui Ming Yuan complex (Bei Men Jie), with two children (11 & 14yrs). My children go to KIA and do afterschool activities. David follows a dancing class and Tom has singing and guitar lessons.

Further they play outside or at home with some other foreign children in the complex.

If you like to meet us please contact me on the following email address: bollen-boer@hotmail.com

I have enrolled my 4 year old son in an inline roller skating class. The kids range in age from about 3 - 10 years old, but I'm sure they'll take any age. The way it works is you purchase the roller skates, helmet and protective padding for elbows, knees and hands from them (at no doubt highly inflated prices) and they'll give you free lessons for as long as you want them. The classes are run on the paved park area underneath the bridge just East of the zoo. The classes are in mandarin, but you don't need to understand the language to follow the instructions. The hours are Mon - Fri, 5pm till 9pm and all day Sat and Sun. It's all fairly informal and you can start and finish when you like. I generally take my son after pre-school during the week and maybe one afternoon on the weekends. This is the closest thing to organised sport here that I have been able to find for my 4 year old, it's great exercise for him and has dramatically reduced his T.V. time. Anyone out there who wants further information or help locating the class, need only contact me via my email address edm.mark@gmail.com

Hi Shetland,
We've lived in Kunming, near Green Lake for almost a month. I have 2 girls (12 & 13) in K.I.A. and am in the starting process of home educating my third daughter(10).

Have you signed up for any activities ?

Hi Carissa,

We have got 2 boys in KIA and live on the green lake for about 7 month now.

Are you from Amerika? Is your husband working for the sigaret filter factory in the North?

Maybe we can meet some day for some coffee. If you like to meet just write me an email:
