Crowne Plaza hotel on Qingnian Lu has a great steak house - but a bit pricey.
That's where I want people to take me for my birthday.

DT is a lot of fun. Have a chat with Juliette or Matu and see what they can do.
DT is excellent, especially with the outdoor courtyard terrace.
Another suggestion is The Great Australian Bite, which has an upstairs room.
