If you are going to buy an induction plate, make sure it is 2000 watts or more. An 800W unit is worthless. I used an induction unit for table top hotpot cooking. Think it was 2400W.

Safe use of bottled gas requires attention to the hoses. They don't seem to last very long and leaky hoses will mean more visits by your friendly gas delivery guy.

There are two basic designs of wok. One has a flat bottom, especially designed for electric hobs. I can't remember seeing one before 1970 though.
