I don't have a low opinion of my fiancee, obviously. She was a friend that eventually became more, not a goldigger. She has similar earning power (per hour) to me.

The word "goldigger" is deregatory.

In most cases this "goldigger" is just trying to secure a family, and also continue responsibility and face of her background family. Its not goldigger, its honor, food and continuity.

If this word is to be used on these persons, then the word "desperado" shall be used on the Western part. Without defining it, as it will arouse provocation. But that would make it even.

One can understand this term goldigger is used by people in their, say, late 20's who yet needs to be somebodies, but its a deregatory word on normal persons.

Im not trying to provoke anyone by saying this, but anyones personality is really not that special - its the gold that counts. And, indeed, also other things, some that mmkunmingteacher pointed out.

@peter99 .. . i in someway agree, but as all women do or is . . . they also try to picture themselves with you or in that perspective. but i think the problem with this culture is the commitment thing or sticking with you for the good and bad. can you blame a one child policy that ends up often being selfish?
