I want to come to Kunming this summer, during my university holidays, from about the 20th of June until the 20th of September. I would like to spend the whole time learning Chinese in a language school or university. However, all of the languages schools and universities seem to have details of their Autumn and Spring Semesters but no details of anything that goes on in summer... Does anyone know if there are any language classes that run specifically from this period? Or will I have to join a class that had already started or have private tuition? Thanks!
As far as I know, the universities close during summer until middle of August. You might be able to find some private tutors when you arrive instead. Finding a good private tutor can be tricky though :)
you can have a look at Western campus of Kunming College of Eastern Language and Culture.

hallo everyone, I' d like to come to Kunming from the end of july and august (about 4 weeks) to improve my chinese. have you any suggestion. thks in adv. bye
If you want to improve your mandarin you will need to find a local friend/language partner. It should be easy to do if you advertise in the classifieds on here. I say this because the local 'man/woman on the street' will mostly speak mandarin with a strong regional accent or Kunminghua (the city dialect).
Or you could arrange something with a local language school. There are several listed and/or advertising on here. But that will cost money.

Hi, if u want to improve your chinese quickly, language school and a local chinese friend without strong regional accent would be useful.
If u want I can help with.
