these endless visa threads are annoying. the workplaces/schools & PSB combined cannot answer visa questions?

it begs the question: how many people out there are doing jobs they don't like and don't care about?

There are very qualified companies to help any one who needs help in these permit, certifications and document areas. Some of them advertise here. I have done work permits, foreign expert certifications and residence permits. Its time consuming, varies by individual need, interpretation, and location. Unfortunately few are willing to pay the costs to have it done for them. Most all want free advice. Many are involved in violating Chinese laws often by accident.

I agree Magnifico. There should be a pinned thread on just Visa questions and answers on Gokunming. Something like a FAQ's. You would think that the best source for information would be the horse's mouth being the actual PSB/workplace/school. Why take a chance on 'hearsay'. What happens when someone here give you outdated information unintentionally and you go with it and turns out you have to leave China?

why pay an agent when you can do it yourself? this is common sense for people to try to do it themselves. can i assume long dragon is an agent?

to long dragon : to get a visa extension for a month as tourist or as student if this apply, really don't need help. Just need the right information. In my case : If it's possible ?

The problem with FAQs, is that they only really work when the answers are static. The visa issue has been a bit fluid over the last 3 years, and is still open to evolving interpretation by the powers that be. Or so it seems.
The student visa situation right now is a case in point.
