Does anybody have updated infos about getting a Vietnam Visa in Kunming? is there an express service and how long does it take?

30 day, one entry visa is 400 kuai for the 5 working day service. Add 185 kuai for the next day service.

so you pick it up 24hrs later with the express service?? do you know if the consulate is open on saturday and sunday?

thanks! do you know if you can apply for a visa for other people as well? My friend has to work on monday so I thought I'll go with both passports and try to get it done...

Got through now. They are on holidays for Spring Festival next week.

I went today and I applied for myself (from EU) and a Chinese friend who was not with me at the moment.
Apparently it takes 3 working days for EU citizens and 5 for Chinese!

On the form you need to stick a 3x5 cm photo and indicate the address, job type and phone number (beside other details you find on the passport itself).

I had to pay 1100Y to obtain the 2 visas in 2 days' time.

The place is still at the address indicated on GoKM listings. At the 5th floor of this big building. I have been to better consulates in KM. This one is quite runned down.

Anybody know if it's equally easy for a Chinese citizen to get a visa and travel to Vietnam as an independent traveler as it is for a foreigner? Same process as other foreigners?
