Coworking in Kunming

viajante (58 posts) • 0

Are there any coworking spots in Kunming? I work on internet and am eager to explore different options, cafes and such where nobody gets bothered and the bill doesn't exceed my daily salary by the end of the day... Any suggestions?

BurgerKing, but you have to order the chicken nuggets special, and maybe a soda if you can afford it, if not ice water then.

post a budget... public internet is choppy at best.. Your best bet is chapter one, until 7pm its 40% off. Very few people go there during the day, so the wifi is fast. Staff is great, and one of the cleanest bathrooms in kunming.

Oh, I was being serious. The Burger King at Golden Eagle has good WiFi, lots of seating, some with a great view, clean, nice decor. And no one will bother you for hours, patrons or employees. Maybe you can only afford the nuggets on special and ice water. Or maybe you can cough up the 70rmb for a triple combo with a garden salad.

Or you could join Regus biz lounges. They have locations all throughout China and the planet, even one in Kunming. But since your concerned about daily allowance, I didn't include this earlier.

None that I know of. It would be nice to have one set up though.

Apart from social aspects, and a mailing address, I can see no benefits of co-working in China.

Most of us just take advantage of free wifi wherever it happens to be, and take a thumb drive to the print shops when/if we need to print. As more of us are working paperless now, this is not an issue.
Personally, I would be reluctant to set anything up, due to free-loaders.

Coworking means a shared working environment for those who work independently, don't have to go to office to get things done and don't want to work from home either. I actually found a perfect place, it's called "Elephant books", behind Mazagran cafe. Many Chinese go there for the same purpose.
