Anybody know where you can buy pretty much most of the stuff you need for cakes in Kunming?
Looking to buy cake tins, icing etc for wedding cake being done and was just hoping somebody who's done some cooking would know where to purchase such stuff :o)

North of DaShangHui on QianxingLu, about two blocks N or Walmart, on the opposite side of the road between HaiChunLu and QianWangLu, is a large market area for hotels and restaurants. In a few of the larger shops on QianXingLu end there is all this stuff. In at leas one shop you need to go upstairs. Downstairs is the big heavy stuff like industrial fridges.

Not as large of a selection, but Metro also has them in the bakery section.

Metro also has icing sugar, flour, baking powder, etc. in the baking section.

Ok with this info should be able to go ahead as planned then, I'll head over to the market area tomo and give it a check.
Not sure I know where any Metro's are but if it comes to needing them I'm sure I can find one :)

there is only one Metro. It's in the GoKm listings:

and take your passport with you if you go to Metro. just in case.

There used to be a banner ad for cooking classes in the North. The listing contained a link to the website. The guy also sold baking ingredient supplies.

Well not the best cook myself lol just my sister coming (and rest of family) for my wedding and she wants to be making the wedding cake so needed to make sure she can get everything she needs here in kunming!
