From October 26th to 28th, Kunming will host the First Kunming Speciality Coffee Culture Festival, together with the 4th Yunnan Coffee Cup China Brewing Contest Kunming Round.

Activities will be happening around Nanqiang Street (南强步行街) in downtown Kunming from 10am to 8pm each day.

Yunnan Province is the largest coffee producing area in China. The competition aims to explore and display the diverse and rich flavors and characteristics of Yunnan Speciality Coffee, and help the promotion of the Yunnan coffee brand. This contest spans the breadth of mainland China, with competitors and selection rounds from the Southwest, Northwest, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, South China, North China, and Northeast Regions. The hope is that more coffee professionals will understand Yunnan coffee through these competitions and that this will generate interest by China’s top brewers.

Many Yunnan coffee manors and roasters will also be present at the festival offering samples of their speciality coffee. There will also be a musical performance 7:30pm-9pm Friday evening and a coffee artist demonstration between 7:30pm-8pm Saturday evening.

Anyone interested in learning more about Yunnan coffee and tasting some great local brews is welcome.
