GoKunming, in collaboration with the Banff Carnival and Now Climbing Gym, is happy to announce a ticket giveaway for the Banff Carnival being held this December 31 and January 1 at beautiful Fuxian Lake. The two-day event is organized with families in mind and features a huge assortment of outdoor activities, practical demonstrations, seminars and film screenings.
We'll be giving away three pairs of two-day tickets, as well as offer a limited number of half-priced tickets to those who contact GoKunming before December 25. To be eligible to win one of the free pairs of tickets, all you have to do is correctly answer the trivia question below and provide us your name and phone number using the GoKunming Contact Form. Anyone who would like to purchase half-priced tickets is also welcome to send us a message.
About the Banff Carnival
The Banff Mountain Film Festival out of Alberta, Canada has screened the world's best outdoor films for four decades. Organizers also host a slew of international events each year in an effort to get people, young and old alike, interested in getting outside and embracing nature. The Banff Carnival is now coming to the shores of Fuxian Lake for the two days straddling the new year.
Featured speakers at the Banff Carnival include Jim Herrington and Paul Pritchard. Herrington in a photographer renowned for his portraits of people from all walks of life. His most recent book release is a collection of photos entitled The Climbers, which captures many of the greatest living alpinists. Pritchard was one of the world's leading mountaineers in the 1980s and 90s, and is the subject of the 2016 film Doing it Scared.
The BANFF Carnival at Fuxian Lake will have both indoor and outdoor events. The Outdoor Experience Zone will have a bike pump track, trampoline park, elevated slack line, kids bicycle track, a rock climbing wall and a miniature ski slope. Each area is staffed by professionals.
Banff Talk Times will feature real-world instructional seminars related to outdoor skills ranging from rock climbing and backcountry hiking. Both evenings, award-winning films from the BANFF Film Festival will be screened. Jim Herrington is scheduled to speak at 4:30pm on December 31, while Paul Pritchard will give his lecture at 2:30pm the following day.
Discount, giveaway and trivia question
As mentioned above, we'll be giving away three pairs of two-day tickets to the festival — each pair with a face value of 456 yuan. To enter for a chance to win, correctly answer the following question using the GoKunming Contact Form, while also providing your name and phone number. We will accept submissions until December 21, and announce the winners the following day.

If you would like to purchase advance tickets to the event, GoKunming is offering them at 50 percent off. Face value for a one-day ticket is 128 yuan, while a two-day ticket runs 228. We can offer a limited number at 64 yuan and 114 yuan respectively. The 2018 Banff Carnival will be held at the China Fuxian Lake International Tourism Resort (中国抚仙湖国际旅游度假区) on the northeast shore of the lake.
