The Kunming International Import and Export Commodities Fair ended on Sunday with its biggest turnout ever. During the fair's five days more than 162 companies showcased their products for Chinese and international buyers with more than US$158.5 million in completed deals, according to Kunming media reports. Additionally, the total reported value of contracts and agreements signed at the event exceeded 68.1 billion yuan (US$8.9 billion).
The total value of exported products from this year's fair was roughly twice that of imports. Total value of exported goods at the fair was estimated US$106.5 million, a 10.3 percent increase over last year's fair. Imported good sales jumped 103.7 percent over the 2006 fair, totaling US$52 million.
