Does anyone know the exact location of the military cemetery in Puzhao. There are 300 US pilots buried there from WWII—members of the Flying Tigers that were stationed here in Kunming 1941-1944. Thanks

Forums > Living in Kunming > What helps against moskitos?

I know this is gonna sound stupid....but pour some bleach in the grooves of your shower doors.....I found some larvae growing in the stagnant water.
Remember that mosquitos do not like moving air. I use a fan directly on me during the night. No problem.

I wanted to take a minute on my last day in Kun Ming to share a comment or five about the Salvador gathering place. It is so much more than just a cafe, bar, restaurant, etc. It truly is a great place where people come to meet, share a beer or two, and pass the time away in sometimes meaningless conversation or just "people watching". I have made some great friends there.
The girls at Salvadors are the best. Yes, sometimes they do forget a pieice of my order, but they go out of their way to make it right. All and all, compared to most of the other places, the staff goes way above the norm. I commend Colin, Chris, and Josh for giving the girls the respect and responsibility to make the place work. Even on the most difficult nights, the girls smile and go about their work.
I will miss the evenings at the outside bar—far too many people to mention or thank for their friendships.
My best wishes to one and all, and God Bless each of you,
Tom

I thoroughly enjoyed the Prague Cafe last night. A friend and I each had a glass of red wine and split a Greek salad and pepperoni/mushroom pizza. The food was outstanding. The service was very good. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. My only criticism the size of the pizzas.

I wanted to express my sincerest thanks to all of those people who organized, managed, and produced the great event at Loft Jinding 1919 on Saturday.

These types of events demand a great deal of planning and foresight.
There is no possible way that I can mention everyone.

Big thanks to Gabe and Vathsan for organizing and cleaning the warehouse--what a great venue for such a wonderful event.

To all of the artists, vendors, and musicians, I appreciate all of the hard work and dedication you have shown time and time again to the cultural side of Kunming.

Chirs did a great job on the his book presentation--although the acoustics need some improvement, it was good none the less.

To Elliot and all the gang at Lazy Bone, thanks for the food and beverages--always a welcomed site at such an event.
If I missed anyone, I am so sorry.
Personally, I love these types of events--they show the best side of what Kunming has to offer.

I hope, in the future, more people come out on such a glorious day to enjoy friends, arts, music, crafts, and just a great time.
Again, my sincerest thanks to all, Tom

I wanted to express my sincerest thanks to Slice of Heaven and all of the individuals who made Saturday's "sidewalk market" such a big success.

I heard about it that morning from Colin at Salvadors, and I am very happy that I went.

I wish there were more of them, but I do understand how much time and energy it requires to be successful.
While I was there, I met the owner, Barbara.

The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and decor.

I had the bacon and egg salad--I would recommend it and the restaurant to anyone.

I only wish that I could buy wine by the glass.
I am sure that when I enjoy a great dinner, I will surely give them five stars.
Thanks, Tom

I enjoy good food and wine--"As You Like" has both.

I have been there only twice, but I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I appreciate the great service and good people who work there.

I had the Salad with Red Beans, Aubergine and Zucchini pizza, and a couple of glasses red wine--just perfect.

The bread was a wonderfully nice compliment to the wine.

Thanks for the good experience.
