There's a German saying fitting quite well to gaoxing's attitude:

"Ein Geisterfahrer?! Tausende!"

(loseley translatable as: "One person driving the wrong way on the highway?! Thousands!")

gaoxing, instead of claiming that something is wrong with that city or the Chinese people or the westerners there, consider if something might be wrong with you. Kunming just isn't your place, so just move out of it. You obviously made it to Hongkong, so don't tell us you couldn't leave Kunming. You don't even try.

(btw, the original question is indeed interesting and worth knowing and does stick out from his usual pointless rants)

My guess is they're financing this website through the use of ads. You see some of them all the time, here... usually about companies in Kunming itself, about language schools, hotels, travel agencies or bars. Indeed things that're interesting for the users of GoKunming. Of course the companies know that, so they might actually pay well.

Hello everyone,
I'm André from Germany and I'm going to study at the Yunnan Nationalities University for about one year, starting at the end of August this year (i.e., very soon!). So I'm a Chinese Language Student. :)

I'd like to know if anyone has any experiences with that university, its dormitory, the teachers, the place itself or anything related to the 云南民族大学. Any suggestions?

I've found two related postings in the forum, but I'd like to ask myself, here.
