Forums > Living in Kunming > calling all artists! ~~art collective in kunming

I'm as far as you can imagine from artists. Form follows function for me, no matter how ugly the 'form' I come up with looks.
I'm a what you cal the amateur tinkerer, and I really like building stuff. Interested to see how others setup their studio. Ideal setup in my mind: One big room, ground floor, plenty of tables and closets .. high ceiling with ceiling fans... And most importantly a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit; I often get 'bright' ideas. As far as workplace setup, I'm similar to artists.
So who else is on the list? What do you do, how do you do it?

Forums > Living in Kunming > blocking flash popups from Chinese computers

I can't remember ever using a computer running windows in China that doesn't do this. Of course, they have PPS and QQ installed.
I'm not talking about browser popups, I'm talking about the popups you get from the bottom right corner of the screen. Whatever you're doing, on top of everything else. Even without a browser running.

Anyway to block those, without removing QQ or PPS.
This is a shared computer I'm talking about, so wiping the machine isn't an option.
Any suggestions appreciated,
Thanks

Forums > Travel Yunnan > Bicycle friendly hotels/hostels Kunming

When I flew to Kunming with my roadbike, I took a regular taxi. Assembled the bike under my apartment and just used the bicycle parking lots. You pay them about 5 jiao per day. But my bike has an old steel frame, Reynolds 631 tubing, so I don't mind the scratches so much.

The hump has a sign asking you to carry your bike upstairs because it's not safe to leave near the entrance, so I guess they're ok with bikes. Once in Yibin, I parked my motorcycle in the entrance of a hotel for an overnight stay!
Good luck, and welcome to KM
