I recently visited the North Train Station - also known as the Yunnan Railway Museum. It was my first time but I found it very enjoyable. A tour of the Museum takes about 15 - 30 minutes and you can also ride the train to Ma Jie near the west Bus Station. The museum is free and the train ride is 2 Yuan one way or 3 Yuan round trip. The new Visa office is located at 118 Tuo Dong Road. There is no number on the building yet so do not bother to look for it. There are 2 passport photo shops on either side of the building. The office is located directly in front of the Kunming Museum. The bus stop is named - Shi Bo Wu Guan - Bus 1, 62, 109, 117, 145, 213, A1 and K3 stop directly in front of the office. Foreigners need to go to the 3rd floor. The Tuo Dong Stadium is located to the right of the office while Baita Road is located to the left of the office.

发布者A toll gate is still under construction that is just 100 meters from the main road into town. I took a picture of the last house standing in the path of the toll road and the owners are still hanging on although half their home has already been demolished. There are new hotels everywhere so there is no need to make reservations. Prices vary from 100 Yuan to as crazy as 780 per night on the shore near the port to Nan Zhao Island. Shuang Lang is already NOT what it used to be and the people are changing quickly. I saw at least 10 bike and scooter rental shops along the 3 km main road.
