English seems to be the default language for communication between a lot of countries who don't speak English.
Therefore you can use English as a medium to learn more about other subjects which would be difficult with no knowledge of English.
For example many science papers are written in English so if you are studying a particular subject and need to know more about it you would be fairly restricted if you only spoke Chinese or German. You could try to use a translating program but it's more accurate generally if you have an idea of the language first.
Overall I wish everyone would stop learning English it would make it much easier for me to practice Chinese :D but it's probably good for you to learn it.
Thanks all!! Have photos and will head towards walmart looking for hardware shops on the way. I'm going overseas next week so I'll probably put up with the phone screen and try not to drop it again until I get back then go look for the phone repair shops suggested, hard cover probably is a good idea, I dropped a metal box of screwdrivers from a ladder on my last phone
Just wondering if anyone knows an easy place to buy an adaptor for a washing machine hose. The tap I need to connect it to is too big and screw on whereas the hose seems to have a push on attachment. Do you think walmart or carrefour might sell these or is there an area with a lot of small shops selling this type of stuff I can go to?
Also I broke my phone screen yesterday, does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable shop to fix it?
Ideally where they don't need to send it away.(I drop my phone about once per day so the Oneplus 3 is actually pretty tough to last a year before the screen broke)
All help appreciated, just thought it might be more efficient to ask before I go round lots of places.
That's a shame I love Kunming police dogs. I was hoping to get one and bring it back to Australia with me one day (though not sure about bringing new breeds back to Australia so it would have required a lot of investigation before getting one). There was a guy who used to train his Kunming dog most nights at Green Lake Park when I lived in Kunming a few years ago, it seemed very happy and well behaved.
I hope people don't take this out on the bats, they're clever animals and do a good job of reducing insects, and hope people stop selling them as food they do have a lot of diseases.and they're too small to eat anyway. I don't understand the point of people eating them, such a waste.
