I've been looking into this. I moved here in December. I'm getting all my kiting gear here. The lakes near KM are Fuxian and Yanzhong. These have good thermal winds meaning a consistent 18-25 kts in the late afternoon. The lakes are gorgeous and beckoning for kiting. Erhai would be another option but further out. Spring should be windiest. I think the proper wind season runs from February till June and peaks around now.
I'm looking for people to get out on the lakes with. It's safer and definitely more fun to be out there with others. Let me know if you fancy joining me on weekends kiting on Fuxian.
I'm looking for disposed/recycled wood. Supporting bars from old houses, floor-boards or paneling of any kind. Does anyone know of a collection-point where people cash their recyclables? Otherwise any advice on outskirts where demolition might take place? Nearby villages with scrapheaps?
I'm mostly concerned about the integrity of the tank; particularly the valve. If there's a leak and a spark it won't just be my windows that'll go bust.
I'm considering extending the gas-hose from my kitchen to a (sheltered) balcony so there's ventilation where the tank will be.
Just wondering if the comforts of fire-burners weigh against the risks of a tank. If anyone has experience it would be nice to hear your thoughts and concerns. I'd want to find a 'reliable' supplier that maintains the tanks properly.
We've just moved into out new apartment in the north of town and there is no grid for natural gas. I've seen a couple of places with stoves with proper burners and a natural gas tank under the kitchen counter.
I'd really prefer to cook on gas but also get mixed reports on safety issues.
Anybody with experience on this?
