Sure! I'll post here, when I get further information.
Nevertheless, if anybody knows anything about going the Lancang/Mekong downstream to Thailand, please feel free to post here.

Done! Waiting for answer now! ;-)
Thank you very much!
I read about boat trips from Jinhong to Chiang Saen in Thailand, but found more questions than answers about it. Can anybody help?
-) Is there a regular boat traffic on that route?
-) How frequent? Every other day? Twice a month?
-) What about water levels in mid march?
-) Where to buy tickets?
-) And if not: Is it allowed to travel on cargo ships to the Chinese/Lao Border or maybe further down to Thailand?
Any help highly welcome! Thx!
For me it's fascinating, that some frequently used ingredients are almost the same as in the European Alps.
For example salted and air-dried ham, grilled goat cheese, porcinis or leaf salad with fresh herbs are definitely not, what I expected to find in China.
Thank you, Matt!
I can see several big landslides at the Google Maps view of that area, especially north of Yongping.
So I have to adapt my plans. I'll hire a motorbike at Tibetmoto in Dali (anyone knows that company?) and go to Weixi and proceed to the Lancang Valley from there.
